Semester 4 builds directly on S3. Structural Analysis I (CE202) extends the concepts from Mechanics of Solids. Fluid Mechanics II (CE206) continues from S3. Construction Technology (CE204) introduces building materials and construction methods. And Geotechnical Engineering I (CE208) starts your foundation in soil science — one of the most important areas in Civil.
Students who struggled in S3 often find S4 harder because the subjects are directly connected. A shaky Mechanics of Solids base makes Structural Analysis feel overwhelming. The best approach is to address weak areas from S3 as soon as S4 begins — don't carry them forward.

CE208 Geotechnical Engineering I — conceptually important and carries forward into S5. Soil classification, consolidation, and shear strength are the highest-weightage areas in KTU exams.
MAT202 — Probability and Transforms show up again in GATE if you're planning that route. Cover the key distribution types and Fourier/Z-transform properties systematically.
